Privacy

What the tide keeps: privacy at Oscalyden

Oscalyden has no accounts, no booking system, no contact form and no analytics or advertising tags of its own. This page explains exactly what that leaves.

What the site itself collects

Nothing that identifies you is entered on the site, because it has nowhere to enter it: no registration, no saved searches on the server, no newsletter. The search box, the tag filters and the sort menu run in your browser and nothing you select in them is sent to us. The site does not use your browser's local storage or cookies.

Server logs

Like every web server, the platform that delivers this site records technical details of each request: your IP address, the time, the address requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent. This is needed to deliver pages, find faults and protect against abuse. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure site. Logs are kept for a limited period set by the hosting platform and are not used to build a profile of you.

Outside services your browser contacts

Three kinds of outside service are involved, and your IP address is visible to each of them when your browser requests something from it.

Email

If you write to [email protected], your address and message are used only to answer you and to correct the site, and are kept for as long as that needs, usually no more than a year.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, to restrict it and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because the site holds almost nothing, most requests will be answered with that fact, but write to us and we will check.

Children

Oscalyden is a travel planning guide for adults and families. It has no feature that asks anyone for personal data and does not knowingly collect any from children.

Changes

If a feature is added that changes the above, this page is updated first. The current version is always at this address. See also the cookie page.
